Most people are afraid of mistakes, failure or failing. Me too. The reasons are simple. Mistakes can be expensive. However, taking risks can bring great rewards too.

I’ve found that the best way is to acknowledge the fear, and still take action.

About 2 years ago, I was thinking about creating an online course. The course is about how to use a video editing software.

I remember the moment well.

The thoughts that floated in my head at that time include, “Is it going to be a waste of time? What if it fails?” What if I looked like a fool?" Who am I to teach this?" It this going to work? etc.

I’ve created a course a few months prior to that, and while the results weren’t great, it was a good learning experience for me.

Making the second course turned out to be one of the best decisions I made. It was rewarding on several levels. Once I launched the course, sales came it. I kicked myself figuratively for not launching in sooner.

Do you remember the times when you encountered some kind of fear but still took action anyway? All of us have done this before. You and I conquered something we were afraid of.

Conquering fear is nothing new. We just need to do more to expand our comfort zones regularly.

No doubt, mistakes can be expensive. As much as you can, make sure any potential mistakes have limited downsides.

Since then, I’ve launched other courses as well. If you are interested, the course I mentioned is this one.

So for this year, I hope that you do make some mistakes. More importantly, what are 1 or 2 things, you ought to take some risks on this year? Let me know in the comments below.
